YPG-NG VISITS THE FORMER MINISTER OF HEALTH
in a renewed efforts to garner support for the groups activities, the President of Young Pharmacists’ Group-Nigeria (YPG-NG), Pharm(Dr) Onimisi Peter Benjamin, led a high powered delegation of Young Pharmacists on a courtesy call on Prince Julius Adelusi Adeluyi, OFR, Mni, FPSN in his palatial office at Juli plc, Ikeja.
The President of YPG-NG, Pharm Onimisi, heartily appreciated the host for receiving them, describing him as the Prince of the Pharmacy profession and a Man who has remained undoubtedly committed to protecting the future of our noble profession.
He commended him for restructuring the community Pharmacy arm of Juli plc to what could best be described as a top notch Pharmacy with state-of-art facilities.
The young Pharmacists’ leader took time to xray extensively their efforts so far towards structuring and expanding YPG-NG from a 4 member states to 37 member states. Other key points that were highlighted included setting up of 3 coordinating committees, hosting the first ever National Executive Council meeting in Kogi State and many more. He went ahead to discuss with the host on the need for partnership between YPG-NG and Nigeria Academy of Pharmacy towards widening, restructuring and sustaining the academy’s mentorship program for young pharmacists.
In what could be described as fatherly discussion, Prince Julius Adelusi Adeluyi, applauded the efforts of the new YPG-NG Executives describing it as one which is adding value to the Pharmacy profession. He shared his professional and life experiences with the team and promised to support them in their bid to strengthening mentorship for both young Pharmacists and Pharmacy students.
He assured them of his unflinching commitment to accommodate the challenges encountered by Young Pharmacists.
Prince Julius Adelusi Adeluyi who is also a lawyer, is the Chairman Juli plc, President of Nigeria Academy of Pharmacy, National President of the alumni of National Institute of policy and strategic studies, former Minister of health and human services, former President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, former Chairman, Nigerian – American Chamber of Commerce, former President of the Association of Professional bodies of Nigeria.
The YPG-NG delegation included the National PRO, Pharm Rashidat Folashade Elesho, South West Zonal Coordinator, Pharm Adepoju Kehinde Philips, Pharm(Dr) Nseabasi Ekanem, Project Director, Trinity Health Care Foundation, Pharm Kola Adeyemo, Pharm Oyekanmi Oluwabiyi and Pharm Babasanmi Jeremiah.
