Pharmacists Council of Nigeria signs MoU to promote healthcare

The project would support the PCN in the implementation of a tiered accreditation system for efficient and quality service delivery at community level in the country.

The Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Society for Family Health for the implementation of the IntegratE Project.

The signing ceremony was held in Abuja with the Registrar of the PCN, Mr. Elijah Mohammed, and the Managing Director, Society for Family Health, Sir Bright Ekweremadu, signing on behalf of their organisations.

The IntegratE Project, co-funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and aimed at improving the quality of family planning services delivered by community pharmacists and proprietary patent medicine vendors in parts of Lagos and Kaduna States, has already commenced activities.

The project would support the PCN in the implementation of a tiered accreditation system for efficient and quality service delivery at community level in the country.

The association also intends to work towards improving access to contraceptives and quality primary healthcare delivery amongst community pharmacists and patent medicine vendors in Nigeria, especially in Kaduna and Lagos States.
